"Musician of phenomenal aptitudes, Madoyan won early international fame and already at the age of 15 became the Laureate of the Wieniawski competition (Lublin, Poland) and the winner of the All-Russian Tchaikovsky Competition of Young Violinists (Novosibirsk, USSR) after his studies at the Yerevan and Novosibirsk conservatories. Three years later, in 1991, he received 1st Prize at the International Kullenkampf Contest of Violinists in Koeln, Germany. Excellent fundamental education (studies and guidance under Grachya Bogdanyan, Zakhar Bron, and Aram Shamshyan) led to the accumulation of a huge repertoire and his concert activities all over the world. However, this did not prevent the violinist from forming his own original individuality. Living now in Germany but constantly visiting his motherland, Armenia, Nikolay Madoyan continually improves his originality and his right to occupy one of the leading positions in the Armenian masterful art."
